What would I do if I dropped my Knife?
GLOBAL Knives are guaranteed against manufacture fault only. Therefore, this does not include knives that have been dropped. Knives that have been damaged by dropping will need to be replaced.
What do I do if my Knife has snapped?
GLOBAL knives are guaranteed against manufacturing faults only. To determine the cause of the damage, please contact our customer service team.
What is the guarantee for GLOBAL Knives?
GLOBAL knives are guaranteed free from manufacturing defects arising from everyday use.
Any knives examined and found to have manufacturing faults will be replaced within a reasonable time frame at our discretion. We reserve the right to reject knives that have been mistreated or where the proper care instructions have not been followed.
Everyday use includes using knives by professional and amateur chefs in the kitchen for food preparation. Using the knives for any other purpose, dropping them, or putting them in dishwashers voids the warranty.
The warranty only extends to the product's original purchaser. Chips in the knife blade, broken knife tips, discolourations from food, rust spots, and scratches on the blade from sharpening are not covered.
My Knife is chipped, so what should I do?
Chips in the blade:
Small chips in the blade can occur through regular use of the Knife and can be fixed using a whetstone or a minosharp pull-through sharpener. We recommend that you get your Knife professionally sharpened for larger chips in the blade. Your local knife shop can assist in repairing your Knife.
Since chips in the blades are not due to manufacture fault, they are not covered under the GLOBAL warranty.
Larger chips in the blade:
Larger chips in the blade are irreparable and can occur through misuse. Risks, where this may happen, include cutting through frozen food, bone or any such product that is too dense for proper knife use. The GLOBAL Knife warranty is only valid for manufacture fault and does not cover damage through misuse.
Broken knife tips:
Broken knife tips often occur when knives are dropped. The GLOBAL warranty does not cover damage to broken knife tips.
What are the most common causes of stainless steel rusting or corroding?
Not removing all dirt and food from blades, not rinsing thoroughly and not drying thoroughly after washing are the three most common causes of knife rust and corrosion. Tarnish can often be removed with SCANPAN Steel and Copper Cleaner or a safe metal polish for kitchenware.
While all GLOBAL knives are manufactured to include molybdenum, a mineral which assists with corrosion resistance to chloride, knives may still be susceptible to rust and corrosion through improper cleaning and use.
